Wallpaper project questions

Questions to ask before wallpaper installation

A little information about the wall and material can make a first conversation more useful. If your question is not listed, call or send a short note.

What should I share to start an estimate conversation?

Start with the project city, the room or area, the wallcovering type if known, and anything you have noticed about the wall. Approximate dimensions and the product label can help, but they are not required for the first call.

Can an on-site assessment or measurements be arranged?

You may ask whether that can be arranged for your project. It is subject to service-area availability and confirmation; a site visit or measurement appointment is not guaranteed by this request form.

Do walls need preparation before wallpaper goes up?

Often the existing surface needs to be evaluated first. Residue, uneven patches, texture, repairs, moisture concerns and paint condition can affect adhesion and appearance. The appropriate preparation depends on the substrate and the wallpaper product.

Do you install peel-and-stick wallpaper?

Yes. The product’s instructions and the wall surface both matter. A smooth, clean, dry and suitable wall can help, but finish, texture and other conditions vary. Share the manufacturer or product details so they can be discussed.

Can old wallpaper be removed before new wallcovering is installed?

Wallpaper removal is an offered service. Existing layers and adhesive can affect the wall beneath them, so the removal scope and any preparation should be considered together.

What affects an estimate?

Project area, wall condition, preparation, removal, pattern repeat, openings, access and the type of material can all influence scope. No fixed price is posted because each project is different; contact Sunset Ridge to discuss yours.

Are commercial wallcovering projects available?

Commercial wallpaper installation is offered. Share the property type, approximate area, material and any site-access considerations so project scope and availability can be discussed.

What areas are served?

Houston is the primary service-area focus, with service throughout Harris County, Texas, including Humble. Call to ask whether a particular project location can be accommodated.

A residential room with a blue patterned wallcovering

Choose a material that suits the space.

Pattern scale, color, finish, light, wall texture and room use all change how a wallcovering reads once it is up. Manufacturer guidance is a good starting point—especially for peel-and-stick, murals and specialty finishes.
